GEOJE ISLAND - Many romanticize about taking a ferry to one of Korea’s remote islands, but the time and effort required can also be used as an excuse to hesitate on making plans.
For those with the tendency to get cold feet, there’s no better option than Geoje Island in South Gyeongsang. The spot offers the best of both worlds: It’s now connected to Busan by the Geoga Bridge, making it easily accessible, while also offering access to many smaller, scenic islands by short ferry ride.
The island is located partly within the Hallyeohaesang Marine National Park, which is widely known around Korea for its rocky islands and clear water.
The area is full of unique views. Similar to climbing to the top of mountains and seeing the peaks of other ranges, here, the outlines of other islands are visible almost everywhere you look.
